Gaza Graffiti Exhibition

"The sky is a beautiful blue; dusty bushes and trees line the road; people are out on the streets; we drive past cars and donkey carts, but nothing helps. The first impression of Gaza is depressingly gray.

For this reason, the first explosion of color feels like a liberation. More color follows as we travel into the densely populated area. The buildings are covered with graffiti that dances along the walls in all the colors of the rainbow. Scarcely a shabby surface has been left to its otherwise gray, silent fate. Gaza’s walls capture my attention. They cry out in green, red, black and yellow: Look at us! Read our messages!"
